Our Club was the first in Wales to appoint a full-time professional squash coach in 2000 - the very talented Greg Tippings who had been playing at the club since 1994.

Playing Career
  • 5yrs on PSA World Tour reaching World Ranking of 69
  • 2000 Silver medal - World Team Championships - Cairo 2
  • 1997 Bronze medal - World Student Games
  • Twice British University Champion – 2000 & 2001
  • 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur
  • 6 times County Champion
  • Over 50 caps for Wales including 7 Europeans Team Championships and 4 World Team Championships
  • Won 3 Bronze medals as a player in the European Senior Championships
  • 2009 Captain of Gwent Inter-County Team
Coaching Career
  • UKCC Level 3 Coach
  • Current U17 National Squad Coach, (boys & girls)
  • Coached four U15/U17 teams to Bronze Medals in the European Team Championships
  • Current Squash Wales High Performance Coach
  • Coach to Welsh Senior Squad
  • Development & coaching of over 16 Welsh junior champions including: Robert Sutherland, David Haley, Jenny Haley, Jordan Williams, Peter Creed, Fiona Murphy, Abbi Hicks, Sam Fenwick, Katie Bradbury...........
  • Newport Squash Club has been the leading Squash Club in Wales for over the past 5 years. Greg has been responsible for developing a strong junior section with over 60 junior members. 27 Welsh capped players emanated from the Club in the last 5 years alone.
  • Select and co-ordinates 10 teams competing in the Welsh and Gwent leagues making it by far the biggest squash club in Wales, (still plays at #1 in the 1st team)
  • 2010 Managed The First Welsh Team in the British Premier Squash League (PSL)
  • 2010 Commonwealth Games Coach for Wales in Delhi
  • Organised the Caffrey’s Newport Senior Open past 10 years
  • Organised the Newport Junior Open past 10 years
  • Organised the Welsh Junior Open in 2007

Greg provides individual tuition at £20 per 45-minute session. He is particularly adept at devising a structured individual coaching programme of regular lessons to help you make radical improvements to your game.

Greg also runs the shop and provides a racket restringing service.
